Quade Cooper's hydration ritual. And why he won't go a day without it.
A Wallabies career that has taken him across three continents, and a body that has been asked to do more than most. Quade has tried every hydration product that gets handed to a professional athlete. One stick in his first bottle of water, every morning, is the thing that stuck.

It starts before the coffee.
First thing, before the espresso and before the phone: a bottle of water, one Hyro stick, shake, done. It is the least glamorous part of a pro's day and, according to Quade, the one he would keep if he could only keep one. Overnight you lose fluid and salt through breath and sweat. Topping both up before the day starts is why he is not chasing a headache at 11am.

It does what it says it does.
No sugar crash, because there is 0.03g of sugar in a stick. No afternoon crash, because the sodium, potassium and magnesium are dosed at the ratios the research actually uses: 500mg, 250mg and 100mg. Most sports drinks give you a fraction of that wrapped in 30g of sugar. Quade's job depends on his body doing what he asks of it. He reads the panel. So should you.

Sauna. Session. Sauna again. Hyro in between.
Heat and hard work both drain the same thing: fluid and the salt that holds it in your cells. Quade's recovery days lean heavily on the sauna, and he does not walk in without a bottle. Rehydrating with electrolytes, not just water, is the difference between feeling fresh the next morning and feeling like the session is still in your legs.

It travels with him. Always.
Camps, away games, red-eyes, three time zones in a week. A stick weighs four grams and fits in a pocket, so there is no premix leaking in the bag and no tub taking up half a carry-on. His own jet lag rule is simple: rest and hydration are your best friends. A long-haul flight pulls more water out of you than most training sessions, so the sticks come out before the wheels do. Nothing to think about.

Most electrolytes taste like sweat or a melted icy pole.
That is the real reason people quit them. Hyro is the one Quade actually reaches for, and judging by his bottle he is not loyal to a single flavour. Real fruit flavour, nothing artificial, and light enough that you can drink it all day without your teeth feeling furry. Hydration you look forward to is hydration you keep doing.

From game day to departure lounge. Same stick, every day.
Quade won't go a day without it, and that is the whole point. Hyro is not a game-day trick. It is a daily top-up that compounds: steadier energy through the afternoon, faster bounce-back after the hard days, and a body that does what you ask of it. It lands on your doorstep every 30 or 60 days. Skip, pause, swap flavours or cancel any time, and if it does nothing for you inside 30 days, you do not pay.
